· A direct TPMS sensor gives real-time readings of the tire pressure. This is the more accurate version, which constantly monitors the tires with the sensors they are operated by. The sensor transmits a radio transmission to the vehicle’s Electronic Control Unit and allows the driver to constantly follow the air pressure rate of the tires. On the other hand, an indirect TPMS sensor does …
· My stock ones were usually within 1 PSI, but you have to remember that there are 4 tire pressure gauges, not just one, so if one is 1/2 PSI high and one is 1/2 PSI low, the difference between them is 1 PSI. The best way to know what's in the tires is to use an accurate external gauge and sample the pressures in each tire, adjusting as needed.
· All tires on the car have 37 PSI when measured with a gauge. All TPMS pressures report 37 except the RF which shows 32 PSI. Pressure go up slightly as expected after a short drive. I've re-learned all the sensors which had no effect on this issue. I also let ~25 PSI out of the RF and filled it back up to see if the sensor reacted correctly. It ...
· The PressurePro sensors are spec'd to be within a 3%+/- range. I don't recommend adjusting the pressure to the sensor, your tire may be more accurate. Adjust all of your tires, when they are cold, using a gauge that you can trust, to your desired pressures. Then put the sensors back on (leave them off before putting back on for at least 1 ...
· I've always been a stickler on tire pressure because I believe it makes a determinable difference in tire wear, gas mileage and over-all handling. I spent a lot of money on this high-quality Blue Point pressure gauge because I saw it being used by every tire-tech in the pits at an Indy Car race. It's at least 20 years old but I'm convinced that shouldn't make a difference in it's accuracy.
· The ones where the pressure sensor is built into a bit larger than normal valve cap, or the more integrated ones where the sensor has to be installed in the tire rim. As we wanted to be able to install theses systems ourselves without the need of a mechanic, we knew we’d go for the valve cap ones. Quite fast we discarded the aftermarket TPMS’s that worked on bluetooth (using bluetooth to ...
· Does anyone know how accurate the tire pressure sensor system is supposed to read. Mine are brand new and all read about 4 to 5 pounds higher than my gauges. I have four seperate gauges which all read the same, within 1 pound. The dealer service rep says the TPS on the car is more accurate...

The TireMinder® transmitters are accurate to ± 3%. TireMinder® brand pressure gauges (mechanical or digital) are among the most accurate on the market at ± two psi. So, if you are running 100 psi in your tires, you could have a gauge reading 2 psi high and a TPMS transmitter reading 3 psi low leaving a difference of 5 psi. This is not ...
· 9. Roadfar Tire Pressure Monitoring System Sensor. Roadfar is a 315 MHz pre-programmed Tire Pressure monitoring system sensor that is specifically built for GM series of vehicles. These sensors are available for models ranging from Cadillacs, Buicks, Allures, Lacrosse and other ranges top of the GM Series.

Now, as far as the accuracy of the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) is concerned, the internal tire pressure sensors are relatively accurate compared to your typical $2 gas station tire gauge (+ or - 1psi according to Johnson Controls, which makes millions of OEM TPMS sensors).
The TireMinder® transmitters are accurate to ± 3%. TireMinder® brand pressure gauges (mechanical or digital) are among the most accurate on the market at ± two psi. So, if you are running 100 psi in your tires, you could have a gauge reading 2 psi high and a TPMS transmitter
· Meanwhile, a direct TPMS measures a tire's actual pressure. Such systems are usually accurate to within 1 psi. Current direct systems use a gauge mounted to the wheel or tire …
· And either I messed up with one of the rear tires, or the sensor in it is off by 2 pounds. So to get a warning pressure of , I had to set the real pressure to and press the reset button. I'd actually like the light to warn me a bit sooner than that. Since I have to recheck those rear tires anyway, maybe I'll aim for a warning pressure of 39 front, 37 rear. That will require 52 front ...
High-linearity pressure sensors can be produced by optimising the construction of the sensor, such as the diaphragm mounting, building the sensor using high-quality materials, and applying electronic compensation. Several other parameters can affect the sensor accuracy, and should be considered when choosing the right sensor for a given ...
· Unfortunately, indirect Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems are often not very accurate and require the driver to reset the system every time a tyre is inflated. Direct Tyre Pressure Monitors are more common and effective. They consist of a combined tyre pressure sensor and valve unit, attached to the inside of each wheel rim. Tyre Pressure Sensor, fitted to a road wheel (tyre removed) The ...

· Tire pressure sensors are a last resort! What that means is you have to treat the tire pressure monitoring system as a last-resort warning rather than assuming the lack of a warning …
