But I didnt have to drain or bleed the system when I spliced in the sender. I clamped the hose before and after where I put the sender, cut it and slipped it in.

It would get so hot by the time the fan came on with temps in the 210 + range and when the fan kicked on if would drop to about 190. At times if you stopped with it hot the ranger would not start until the temp cooled down.

I think that the "air bleeder hole" comment is referring to a screw used to get the air out of the cooling system. On the 700 and 800 engines, it is loacted on the t'stat housing. I assume that it's similar on the 500.
